GENERAL RONALD W. IVERSON

Iverson joined the Defense Security Service in July 2000, as the Deputy
Director for Program Analysis and Evaluation, formerly known as Standards
and Quality. He served as the Deputy Director for Logistics and Production
Support overseeing the offices of Administration and Logistics, Standards/Evaluation,
& Quality Management, Operations Research, Human Resources, and
Security. As of March 2002 he has been the Deputy Director for Industrial
Security directing the staff and field operations in oversight of the
National Industrial Security Program.
General Iverson was born in Moscow, Idaho. He earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Idaho in 1965. His professional military education includes USAF Squadron Officer School, Air command and Staff College, National War College and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He served in the United States Air Force for 32 years and retired in 1997. His military service included operational assignments at every level as a fighter pilot including combat in Vietnam. He commanded an F -15 fighter squadron and was commander of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing in the Philippines. His last assignment was 7th Air Force Commander in Korea where he was also Commander of all US Air Forces in Korea, Deputy Commander for all US forces in Korea and Deputy Commander of United Nations Command Korea. His staff assignments in the pentagon included chief of the US Air Force Combat Analysis group called Checkmate and as a Deputy Assistant for National Security Matters. Other staff assignments included Vice Commander of the US Air Force Personnel Center and Deputy Commander for Operations of Pacific Air Forces. General Iverson was awarded numerous military awards including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, fourteen Air Medals, Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters, and the Defense Distinguished Service Medal. He and his wife were awarded the Jerome F. O'Malley award as the best wing commander and spouse in the US Air Force for 1987. |
