Carolyn Shugart

Ms. Shugart has been an employee of the government 28 years. In 1982 she accepted a position as an Industrial Security Representative with Defense Security Service’s San Diego Field Office. During the period 1986-1987, she was an information systems instructor in the Industrial Security Department at the DOD Security Institute (DODSI) in Richmond, Virginia (now DSS Academy). For the past 14 years, she has been an Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP) in Southern California. During the past five years she has also been responsible for Northern California. During that time she also served seven years as Co-Chairperson for the Pacific Region AIS Security Forum. She is currently the Information Technology Specialist for DSS’ Standards & Quality Branch, DSSHQ, Alexandria, VA, and is a DSS Academy Adjunct Faculty Charter Member.
